We are delighted to be hosting Antonin & Brian for our very first wine maker lunch with Le raisin & L'Ange, Ardèche, France. Antonin Azzoni will be here pouring his wines along side Brian o Connor of Brians's wines. We will be serving a set four course lunch with matching wines priced at 100 euro per person on Sunday May 4th from 1pm-4pm. (We may not be able to cater for all dietary requirements due to the nature or this event, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate)
Since establishing his domaine in an old cellar in the Ardèche way back in 1980, Gilles Azzoni's wines have become definitive iterations of the wild- eyed, rugged Ardèche. An instrumental figure in the caring and sensitive approach in the vineyard and cellar, Gilles influence on natural wine makers reaches far and wide. His cellar serving as a university of sorts for many of the most exciting young wine makers in Europe.
No more so than his son Antonin who since 2017 has put his own stamp on the domaines legacy. Antonin has kept a small holding of vines in the tiny village of Les Salelles and has built on his fathers legacy, encouraging young growers in the region to convert to organics, buying their fruit to produce some of the most cherished natural wines available today. Heady and potent wines from Antonin's cellar tickle the drinkers carnal sensibilities in a way few others can. These wines we find ourselves reaching for in any season, for any occasion. We cant wait to be pouring these for you
